The Mary Poppins Musical is coming to Lake Shore February 21st-23rd, 2019 at 7:30 pm. There is also a matinee at 12:30 on the 23rd in the LSHS Auditorium. It is important to be an active member of the school and attend this magical event, or even become a part of it. Lake Shore High School has had some amazing performances done in the past, and Mary Poppins is going to be another to add to the list.
Auditioning for this musical will be an exciting experience and anyone who is a student at Lake Shore can audition so it is highly encouraged to get out there and try.
There will be a lot of pressure if trying to achieve a main role, as expected, but it is important to not give up because there are other roles you can get. Stay positive and keep going.
Smith, choir director, wants people to know that he has a no-cut policy so that any student who auditions is automatically in the show. He continues, stating, “really what the audition is for is me seeing what the abilities are of each student auditioning and where would they be best placed in the cast to have the best and strongest success of the show.”
Still not interested in showing up to support? Smith says, “The kids put so much hard work to prepare a show of this magnitude and I can promise anyone that comes to see one of our musical productions that they won’t leave disappointed. Our kids do such a phenomenal job of performing and transforming the theater into such a magical space every year, and I cannot wait to see how they take us through the story of Mary Poppins.”
The release of Mary Poppins Returns comes out to theaters in December, so Lake Shore’s musical in February will help to show just how the story began.
If you have any questions about the musical, ask Smith.
Get out there and show some support to fellow Shorians!
