This Comedy-Drama aired on Showtime in 2011. The new season is rumored to be aired sometime this year. The show highlights Frank Gallagher, an alcoholic father, and his six children: Fiona, Lip, Ian, Carl, Debbie and Liam. The show covers the daily life of the dysfunctional Gallagher family and the ups and downs of living in Southside Chicago.
- The Office-
This NBC Comedy first aired in 2005, and the last episode aired on May 16, 2013. This show captures the daily work life of Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company workers; Michael, Jim, Dwight, Pam, and Andy. Hang ups, ego clashes, and love triangles are not uncommon in this satirical mockumentary.
- Grey’s Anatomy-
This ABC Drama series first aired on March 27, 2005. Life can get difficult as a Doctor at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Main Character Meredith Grey tries to live up to her Alzheimer’s ridden mother’s expectations; however, her love interest Derek Shepherd will change her perspective on life. Grey’s Anatomy captures the Grey Sloan Doctor’s love triangles, life issues and heart wrenching patient stories.
- Parks and Recreation-
This NBC sitcom aired from April 9, 2009 to February 24, 2015 and showcases the public officials of Indiana Parks Department. Similar to the Office, another mockumentary, Parks and Recreation encompasses the satirical aspects of working in modern day politics. Leslie Knope, played by the notorious Amy Poehler, is a mid-level bureaucrat. The show follows how Leslie and her friends move up the political chain, which therefore brings big changes to the town of Pawnee Indiana.
- The Fosters-
This Freeform drama series showcased on June 3,2013. The show follows the Fosters, a modern day, multi-ethnic blended family.The family is led by a lesbian couple, Stef and Lena, and includes four adopted children and one biological child. Throughout the show the Foster family gets turned upside down with hookups, breakups , and important life lessons.
- Stranger Things-
This Fantasy-Horror series showcased itself on Netflix in 2016. When Will Byers goes missing his friends Dustin, Mike, and Lucas, go looking for him, they meet an unlikely friend, who goes by the name of Eleven. On the way she reveals her supernatural abilities, and the three friends realize the small town of Hawkins, Indiana is more than meets the eye.
- Doctor Who –
The original Doctor Who started on BBC in 1963 and ended in 1989. However, in 2005 BBC brought Doctor Who back. This Sci-fi series follows the main character, a 2000 year old time lord who is referred to as ‘The Doctor’ who travels through space and time. The Doctor and his companions face, and resolve mysteries, monsters and potential threats to the earth.
- One Tree Hill-
This TV- Drama aired first in 2003, on The CW, and finished on 2012. Half brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott live in the small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina . Nathan, neglected by his alcoholic, impulsive, mother, and Lucas, who was abandoned at birth by his father with his hard working mother both learn the ins and outs of life on and off of the basketball court. The boys learn of love, heartbreak, marriage, divorce, birth and death.
This all time classic sitcom series aired in 1994 and put it’s last episode out in 2004. Rachel, Ross, Monica, Joey, Chandler, and Phoebe are a group of friends living in the heart of New York City. Throughout the show, they encounter: chaos, family issues, romance, fights, and many laughs.
- The Walking Dead –
This Horror-Drama series aired on AMC in 2010 and continues its legacy today. When a zombie epidemic of apocalyptic proportions breaks out society falls to ruin. After waking up from a coma, It’s up to police officer Rick Grimes to look for his family. Grimes battles the zombies or better known as ‘The Walkers’ with a group of survivors he meets along the way.
