Lake Shore’s Valentines Ball

Lake Shore’s mid-winter spirit week had its traditional end with the Snowcoming dance on Saturday, February 11th. As usual, the dance was held in the new Lake Shore gymnasium, complete with a disc jockey and ambient lighting. The dance began around 7 o’clock in the evening, stretching to 10 o’clock at night.
Similar to the homecoming dance, Snowcoming followed a week of Shorian Spirit. Decorated with different days of attire, the week led into the dance as the final festivity. Our proud Shorians were adorned with a mix of attire, some opting for a more casual look while plenty donning some of their finest threads. Lower classmen were a primary portion of the attendance, though upperclassmen were well represented. The dimly-lit gymnasium, much to the dismay of the students, kept just a few lights in the back portion, still providing enough ambience to vibe with. The lights and booming music stirred the gym to life during hit tracks. “Get Low” by Lil Jon got everyone in the room on their feet. Refreshments sold from the commons vendor completed the dance as an all around spectacle.
