Soccer, Kicking Goals and Taking Names

Lake Shore’s ladies soccer teams are pumped up and ready to take on districts this year. Both teams have been working hard since March to dominate the competition at Districts, on June 1st’

This year’s Shorian soccer teams are killing the game, the Junior Varsity team is undefeated and the varsity team is 8-4 the Shorian Nation has high hopes for this year’s Districts match. One may think that it would be looked at differently than the other games, but JV player Miranda Krolewski thinks otherwise, “A game is a game, go out and play hard.”  It does not matter what kind of game it is, players play out the way they would any other game, with “Smart plays on the ball and well performed communications” says Krolewski.

In preparation for the game, the team is revved up and ready to go, “[although] If I had to put myself in a varsity players shoes, I would definitely work on as much as possible for districts,” says Krolewski, but it is the team’s positive energy and athleticism that will help drive the Shorians to another big win at districts.

In a recent article published by C&G News, the Shorians are headed straight for a division title. At the time of the articles debut, Senior co-captain Ashley Romanowski had said “We’ve pretty much got to win out the rest of the way if we’re gonna win the division,” and the team has done just that with dominations over Cusino (6-0), Port Huron Northern High School (5-2), L’anse Creuse (5-1), and Lakeview (6-1). Along with the undefeated JV team, the Shorians are sure to put up a fight at this year’s districts game and hopefully add another Division championship title to their resume.

The Lake Shore Varsity team has had a fantastic season and only hope to make district finials. At the end of the season Krolewski says that  the one thing that she will never forget that soccer has taught her is that you have to “Work hard and you will be able to accomplish great things.” and the team as done just that, they have worked hard all season, to accomplish the greatest of things, a Mac Division Championship.
